Which was better, the 1980 version of Pirates of Penzance, or the 2006?

In your personal opinion.. I'm just curious who preferred the 2006 Australian over the 1980's Rex Smith one. I personally preferred the 80's with Angela Lansbury. That one remained the most true to the characters.
